This movie made it on the list because it’s one of my girlfriend’s movies. She adores Julie Andrews and knows every song by heart. For context, I’m not a big musical person but I do enjoy them. Overall, I liked the movie! The setting was beautiful, the songs were fun and the actors/actresses were great. I think my biggest gripe was the length and pacing. The movie was like 3 hours long and definitely dragged at some points. I think if I was more into musicals I would have enjoyed it more. I give it a 3/5.

The Bridge on the River Kwai was a fictional movie that takes place in Thailand in WW2. A company of British soldiers are taken captive as POWs by the Japanese. They are tasked with building a bridge across the river Kwai. It was a movie about ideals. Different military leaders prioritising their ideals over the other and that drives their actions. I really enjoyed watching and will be watching it again, 4/5.
